The Role - Senior Accountant
Senior Accountants are high-performing professionals that provide essential leadership on our projects and work with firm leadership to deliver attestation and tax services for our clients. Senior Accountants will deepen their business acumen across various sectors and hone their knowledge of attestation methodologies, audit strategies, tax compliance and tax planning
opportunities. Senior Accountants will also train, mentor and lead others on projects and work with firm leadership to enhance our clients’ success.
Senior staff accountants typically work with a member of OFWF leadership in completing work for our clients. They have the opportunity to work on both attest (audits, reviews, etc.) engagements and tax return preparation and planning for individuals, non-profits, and businesses along with other engagement-driven projects.
Typical Role of Senior Accountant on Projects

Plan, lead and manage all phases of attestation engagements (compilations, reviews and audits) for small to medium clients and lead many phases of attest engagements for clients;

Plan, lead and manage multiple client tax projects. Provide guidance for team members in completing project work by following tax code and regulations in preparation of various types of tax and information returns. Assigned projects may include nonprofits, sales tax, income tax and other types for individuals, businesses and trusts;

Anticipate client needs and respond accordingly;

Lead and participate in a wide range of projects, consistently demonstrating creative leadership in solving complex client problems while demonstrating individual initiative;

Ensure all work meets professional quality guidelines, is completed in an accurate manner and meets project deadlines;

Utilize problem-solving skills and the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects;

Be a role model for team members. Demonstrate teamwork dynamics through interaction with team members and leadership;

Ensure open communication and transparency on teams;

Effectively delegate work to other staff members on the project;

Complete staff evaluations and participate in performance reviews for team members;

Develop in house training for CPE and other topics as needed; and

Demonstrate flexibility in effectively managing projects.

Qualifications

Possess strong attestation and tax accounting and regulation experience.

Demonstrate strong leadership capabilities.

Have a bachelor's degree in accounting or a closely related major.

Have 3-5 years of public accounting experience.

Have their CPA certificate or they are nearing achievement.

Demonstrate strict attention to detail, organization and efficiency.

Possess strong communication skills and has a solid client-facing presence.
